This is the role

As Asset Manager Polymers Europe it is your goal to maximize value from each of the applicable assets under your responsibility. You will do that by optimizing the portfolio of products and reduce the costs of production, consistent with market, business and asset strategies. You are responsible for understanding and addressing gap closure versus external and internal benchmarks. You will develop and drive initiatives to decrease cost or increase value, and convincingly act as interface between manufacturing, planning, supply chain, marketing, ADTS, R&D, product stewardship and corporate HSE. 

Responsibilities

• Evaluate asset performance versus external benchmarks and versus business needs including market segment specific requirements. Identify actions and define corresponding initiatives and action plan to drive improvements, developed in close collaboration with marketing managers, manufacturing, procurement, ADTS, planning and supply Chain, and other functions as relevant and applicable.
• Develop, adapt and maintain appropriate asset strategy to close performance gaps, optimize the cost versus revenue balance and fit to business needs. 
• Contribute to develop the product based business plan (5 years). Ensure alignment and consistency between functions and with the PP/PE strategy, next to asset in line with the overall business and site strategy. 
• To close gaps as appropriate and develop projects and initiatives for cost reduction and value enhancement. These projects and initiatives are Capex programs or VEP or both. 
• Drive optimization across segments for the respective assets balancing value and strategic direction and coordinate the overall planning and overall monomer optimization. 
• Drive internal value optimization of product portfolio, product wheel, alpha-mix capacity, catalyst systems, additives/pre-blends, while optimizing revenues and margins around complexity, fixed and variable production costs, optimization of customer mix/ freight costs and working capital optimization
• Drive the implementation of MPC’s for improvement of existing grades, introduction of new products, including new catalyst systems in the plants. 
• Manage, together with Manufacturing, Planning and ADTS, the minimization of transitions and the reduction of blocked and ageing stocks.
• Lead Product Stewardship activities to ensure external regulations, externally or corporate certified standards and business needs are fully met for relevant part of the product portfolio. Understand implications of upcoming changes in requirements and ensure timely response
• Assist in quality and re-certification processes, such as audits, ISO-9001 or IATF certification, business/product stewardship procedures, customer quality audits together with Quality Focal Points and other stakeholders. 
• Assess product quality risks and support investigation of off-grade productions, quality issues and claims (QNs)  in coordination with the plants and ADTS. 
• Lead the regular information exchange with Operations to monitor plant performance, address issues, co-ordinate improvement efforts and upcoming changes/ activities.

This is what you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or manufacturing
• MBA preferred
• At least 10 years of relevant manufacturing, R&D, ADTS or marketing experience
• Knowledge of LyondellBasell products, market applications and production technologies
• High analytical skills to understand key drivers of plant performance and match with business needs
• Demonstrated ability in preparation of improvement action plans from analysis through to implementation, results orientation, planning capability and organized project management structures
• Capability to interact across and engage multiple different functions at multiple levels in driving forward for collective best results 
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Fluent in English, one or more other European languages highly preferred
