As a senior typescript developer you will be part of our mission critical Event Management Platform (EMP) team, building the platform that receives millions of status messages and combines the messages per shipment into a virtual image of this shipment's logistical path.

Visible Work
Challenge: The platform monitors the path of shipments and intervenes in our automated operational locations if it decides something can be done smarter and better. PostNL runs 24/7, and so does our platform. We support the actual physical logistics of PostNL and run our platform in a high-performance mission critical style.
Good atmosphere
Freedom:You will work from home and at a flexiplace in our bustling, ultramodern office in the historic Stationspost building (next to Holland Spoor station).
Responsibility:You will largely determine your position and working hours yourself.
Development opportunities: You will have plenty of opportunities to follow training programmes and grow into other positions or departments.

Your role will be helping the platform to expand. Making sure that other platforms can be technically connected. A few of the latest achievements were connecting to the PostNL event broker (AWS EventBridge) and implementing Open Telemetry in our logs. By using your Software Engineering experiences and the latest AWS Serverless components to find smart solutions for challenges on the cutting edge of IT and logistics.
You work on both the solution design and implementation. We have a strong emphasis on sharing and solving problems together. There is enough focus time, and you're also part of development and design sessions with other (senior) engineers. You maximize platform value by evaluating the solution on performance and cost. We approach challenges from a technical point of view and are co-responsible for the stability, scalability, security, innovation and integration.

The team works in a DevOps manner (you build it, you run it) and consists of a Platform owner, scrummaster, lead developer and three developers. This is a team where you give and receive feedback. • Salary between €4.280 and €7.054 gross per month (scale 11/12) for 37 hours per week.
• Scope to work hybrid and arrange your hours flexibly. Do you work two days or more per week from home? Then you will receive an allowance of €45 net per month.

You are an experienced AWS Typescript developer which has experience with AWS cloud-native microservices architect and integration. You like to be in an innovation front runner team that sets the example and therefore connects to other teams on a functional and technical domain including coaching. With your enthusiasm you are able to inspire others. You are able to make the trade off between performance and lead time, to know when over-engineering is at play. 

 

In summary you can find yourself in the following background:

• Experience with different software architectures like MACH and event-driven architecture is a must. And understand CI/CD concepts & methodology,
• You know how to optimize performance by using OTEL metrics, monitoring and observability tools
• You like to stay up to date about IT trends, developments and new technologies and search for how to apply them
• You enjoy crafting software that makes a meaningful difference for millions of consumers, and you know how to use data structures and design patterns to do so
