About the role 
 

As a Commercial Controlling Manager at L’Oréal Benelux, you will be responsible for driving financial performance and providing strategic insights to support the commercial activities of the company. Your primary focus will be on monthly customer P&L reviews, valorization and gross to net landing, sustainable financial growth, and contributing to strategic projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure alignment with company targets. Your expertise in financial analysis, planning, and project management will contribute to the overall success of L’Oréal Benelux.

 

You will have the opportunity to manage a team in two countries, under one umbrella.

Subsequently, you will offer knowledge, support and mentoring to ensure the team is equipped as it need to be. 


 

What you’ll do

 

  1. Monthly Customer P&L Reviews

- Engage the team in reviewing customer planning and year-to-date performance in preparation for monthly Sales Alignment meetings.

- Summarize planning updates to the Finance Director (FD) to assess risks and opportunities.

- Focus on alignment with Revenue Growth Management (RGM) plans and valorization targets.


 

2) Value creation and Gross to Net Landing

 

- Prepare and submit on-time closing notes to the organization with comprehensive information on value growth, sell-in and sell-out performance and reasons of deviations if needed

- Provide an outlook on planning, risks, and opportunities.

- Ensure accurate alignment of turnover numbers in month-end closing


 

3) Sustainable Financial Growth

 

- Maintain precise trend customer planning in Compass as a reflection of customer planning for both countries.

- Play an instrumental role in highlighting risks and opportunities to achieve turnover growth, net price, and gross margin targets.

 

 

4) Key Contributor to Strategic Projects

 

- Actively participate in strategic projects such as Elevate, TWWT (The Way We Trade), BPM and Revenue Growth Management.

- Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support project objectives.


 

5) Team development

 

- Mentorship and Coaching: Take an active role in mentoring and coaching team members, providing guidance and support in their professional development. Share your knowledge and expertise to help them enhance their skills and reach their full potential.

- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team. Encourage team members to share ideas and suggestions for process enhancements or innovative approaches to their work. Support their initiatives and provide resources to implement improvements.



Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Obtained a Masters degree in relevant field (Finance, Accounting or Economics)

- Minimum of 7 years' relevant working experience in similar job, and ideally industry

- Fluency in English, and ideally either Dutch or French

- Leadership experience is a plus

- In-depth knowledge of P&L management.

- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI (optional).

- Experience with SAP (ERP), Compass (L’Oréal reporting tool), and Boost.

- Proven ability to act as a proactive business partner.
