Vacaturebeschrijving

At ING, our bold ambition is to create a personal and impactful mobile-led financial experience for our customers while contributing positively to society. The UX & Design Center of Expertise (CoE) Netherlands is at the heart of this ambition, not only for The Netherlands, but also for other countries where our shared digital platforms are used.

The Team

We are experts in Service Design, User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Visual Design, User Research, and Content Design. We're building a high-quality user experience, leveraging best practice design methodologies and design artifacts. We're co-developing the ING Design System, Orange Juice, in collaboration with other ING design departments.

Our CoE centralizes all designers to ensure resource alignment, craft development and optimization. We aim to be the leading creative force that can solve any challenge.

Roles and Responsibilities

We are looking for a Chapter Lead at the UX & Design CoE (NL). This CoE is made of a design community of 42 designers, researchers, and content designers in The Netherlands. They work in 10 Expert Teams led by 3 Chapter Leads and 1 CoE Lead. This vacancy is based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

We are looking for a seasoned user researcher/designer with people management experience, or willing to pick this up quick, who strives for high research and design standards. You share our passion for developing and coaching individual researchers, designers and design expert teams towards high performance, always ready to go the extra mile for colleagues and customers. Together with the other Chapter Leads, you form a strong team and act as the custodian of user-centred design quality for our digital channels, managing the delivery of research and design artefacts for all projects and initiatives.

As a Chapter Lead at the Design CoE your main responsibilities are:

  • Manage and lead a team of researchers and/or designers (5 to 10 FTE).
  • Coach, guide, improve and assess individual researchers, designers and expert teams.
  • Promote and uphold high research and design standards, ensuring the overall quality and cohesiveness of design deliverables across channels and segments.
  • Effectively manage relationships with stakeholders, translating business objectives into actionable design strategies.
  • Oversee the execution of research, the design process, optimize for efficiency, and help prioritize the research/design backlog based on value for the customer and for business.
  • Play a key role in the success of the CoE, driving its growth towards the next level of design maturity.
  • Foster a culture of user-centred research and design by increasing the 360° UX awareness within the company.
