At Swisscom we offer various networking solutions to our B2B customers. Services like EC (swisscom.ch/ec) and BNS (swisscom.ch/bns) are based on network virtualisation. This means that many thousands of virtual routers and firewalls are running on internal IaaS clouds to produce this services. As we have 1 million metrics every 5 minutes we rely on big data approaches to aggregate and correlate events and spot anomalies.

What you move?
In our team you are a key player in the development of our platforms and implementation of monitoring business logic. With your knowhow you make sure that our own systems are running smoothly so they can detect issues of our customers services in the most efficient and effective way.
Furthermore, you support and drive our vision in the area of Big Data and deep dive in the infrastructure automation. As part of our team will get in touch with different clouds and various IT-Systems (Openstack, Kubernetes, iAPC) which consumes a huge amount of data. Your main task will be the further development of our Monitoring Solution + assist other Teams in the area of Monitoring as well as doing regularly rollouts of new versions.
Our goal is to minimise the mean time to repair in case of issues and therefore we'd like to find root causes of incidents as fast as possible.

Requirements:

Why you succeed

• Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent work experience
• Hands-on experience with Operation (EOD, Bug hunting) 
• Practical experience in test automation (Python)
• Proficiency in coding and scripting (Python, Bash)
• Proven experience with Ansible, Kafka, Docker/Kubernetes
• Knowledge of Cloud Computing (PaaS, IaaS)
• Experience with Correlation and Monitoring, Prometheus & Grafana
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and procedures (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Jira)
• Excellent English both written and spoken
• Prior experience with Zabbix is a plus
• Prior exposure to agile methodologies in an international context is a plus.
