Janssen Supply Group, LLC. is currently recruiting for a Distinguished Process Engineer, Large Molecule to join the Large Molecule Engineering and Technology team within the Global Engineering and Technology (GET) organization. This position can be located in Horsham, PA; Cork, Ireland; Schaffhausen, Switzerland; or Leiden, Netherlands!

As an industry-leading expert, the Distinguished Engineer in the Global Engineering and Technology team provides guidance to project teams and workgroups, offering overarching leadership in implementing new technologies and recommending improvements to enhance engineering efficiency. This role also involves significant technical leadership responsibilities. Moreover, the individual will play a crucial role in nurturing future talents by mentoring both internal and external engineers and scientists. The position holds significant importance as it contributes to the Supply Chain division, which is at the forefront of producing advanced antibodies and holds a key position as a global leader in healthcare.

We are seeking a dynamic individual to lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge engineering standards across our platform. The candidate will drive innovation in process technologies, ensure seamless integration at all sites, and evaluate and adopt new technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be accountable for delivering advanced engineering, design, and construction solutions for manufacturing facilities, systems, and equipment. Additionally, they will provide engineering and technical support for complex production and processing equipment.

Specifically:

  • Spearhead the discovery and development of new engineering standards for advanced technologies across the platform.

  • Collaborate with the MSAT Platform head to ensure alignment with technology standards and engineering specifications for manufacturing technology.

  • Offer technical support for Global Business Development by leading technical assessments for L&A/M&A business development opportunities.

  • Serve as the Global Engineering technical lead for platform manufacturing and process issues.

Detailed Responsibilities include:

  • Championing the establishment of engineering standards across the platform, with a focus on enhancing processes and technologies.

  • Assessing network capabilities, strategically planning capacity, and evaluating potential mergers and acquisitions while overseeing the integration of new technologies.

  • Providing technical expertise and guidance, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, government regulations, and customer specifications.

  • Collaborating with the MSAT group to align on technical standards and project execution for technical transfers and new product introductions.

  • Proactively researching and implementing new technologies to drive business growth and efficiency.

  • Keeping abreast of industry trends through continued education and participation in seminars and trade shows.

  • Leading the execution of engineering projects and initiatives across multiple sites, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.

  • Generating capital equipment appropriations and managing expenditures to support process improvements.

  • Regularly updating senior management on project status, costs, and performance against targets.

  • Providing technical leadership to cross-functional teams and resolving interdepartmental issues.

  • Ensuring thorough documentation of all project activities and deliverables.

Scope:

  • Manages project team members during project execution.

  • Oversees multiple outside vendors and contractors.

  • Responsible for project management for projects in the $1-10 million range.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 15 years of experience, or Master's/MBA/Ph.D. with 12 years of experience required.

  • Biopharmaceutical process engineering experience required.

  • Large capital project experience over $1 million required.

  • Hands on experience commissioning or qualifying equipment required.

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certifications preferred.

  • Experience in setting strategies preferred.

  • People management experience preferred.

  • Primarily operates in an office environment.

  • This position requires up to fifty percent (50%) of domestic and international travel.
