I am recruiting for a leading Maritime company based in the Netherlands and they are looking for a Technical/Engineer Manager on a permanent basis.
Responsibilities:
- Offer technical assistance to project managers, sales engineers, account managers, and field engineers.
- Oversee the management and development of technical services personnel and payroll field engineers in the Safety & Environment division, following the guidance of the Technical Director Safety & Environment:
- Provide guidance and direction to Safety & Environment Engineers.
- Conduct training and coaching sessions for all Engineers.
- Assign tasks, assess Safety & Environment Engineers, and provide mentorship.
- Exercise day-to-day leadership, ensuring accountability to expectations and KPI results for Engineers and Support Engineers.
- Take charge of recruiting and retaining payroll Safety & Environment Engineers.
- Enforce and adhere to policies and procedures for field services, Quality, and HSE in Safety & Environment operations, as guided by the Technical Director Safety & Environment:
- Implement and maintain day-to-day compliance with QHSE and quality standards (ISO9001-2015) among Safety & Environment technical staff.
- Collaborate with internal teams and partners to minimize defects and reduce the cost of poor quality, implementing continuous improvement processes.
- Analyze and address quality issues/complaints through the introduction of corrective and preventive actions.
- Oversee and support various aspects of modernizations and more intricate repair projects, including design, estimation, quoting, material procurement, customization, assembly, supply, and installation.
- Act as a technical expert representative in interactions with teams, clients, and provide support to operations, spares, sales, and marketing teams on technical matters related to Safety & Environment.
- Facilitate the onboarding of new Engineers to the Safety & Environment technical team.
- Collaborate with the HR department in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, hiring, and onboarding new field engineers.
- Participate in the out-of-hours service technical support rotation.
Role Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) (EQF 6/7) in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics / Engineering.
- Proven experience as a senior service engineer is desirable.
- Minimum 6 years relevant experience within the maritime industry.
- Minimum 2 years of management experience.
- Excellent reading and writing skills in English, plus a second relevant language (preferably Dutch).
