UNILEVER R&D IS LOOKING FOR A LOCAL DEPLOY OFFICER (ASSISTANT INHARMONIZATION AND COST REDUCTION PROJECTS)

This includes setting up local product specifications in the respective country language, legal correctness of on-pack information, technical management, regulatory compliance, sustainability, nutrition, claims clearance and challenge management, promotional support, issues management and crisis management.  

For the recruitment of this position, we would like to emphasize that local conditions apply to the position and for this vacancy in principle we will first consider candidates based in the Netherlands. Location: Unilever HIVE Wageningen – the Netherlands

Duration of the roles: 18 months but after that possibility to continue within Unilever.

Local conditions apply

Salary:  44-64 K gross depending on background and experience.

The UFS R&D Team is focused on developing products and or services to help all professional chefs to ease their tensions in creating menus and dishes for their guests in a sustainable, healthy and profitable way for all markets. 

JOB PURPOSE

For the portfolio renovation and simplification program in UFS Europe we are looking for additional support in our Local deploy Team. Local Deploy (LD) is responsible for a smooth technical implementation of the cross category project portfolio on time to the market and acts as the R&D business partner for the Multi Country Organisations (MCOs). This requires close cooperation with the central simplification R&D Team.

This includes setting up local product specifications in the respective country language, legal correctness of on-pack information, technical management, regulatory compliance, sustainability, nutrition, claims clearance and challenge management, promotional support, issues management and crisis management.  

The LD Officer assists the LD Manager regarding technical matters relating to their respective category. 

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE?

  • Translate MCO requirements into appropriate input for the Categories/ Development organisations.  This includes local needs (taste/fragrance/regulatory compliance), distribution & usage conditions, and secondary packaging requirements.
  • Participation in HARMONIZATION AND COST REDUCTION PROJECTS.
  • Liaise with central R&D teams (Hive) and supply chain particularly regarding technical execution of projects as appropriate.
  • Ensure correctness and technical applicability of on pack claims in cooperation with nutrition, regulatory and legal.
  • First Point of Contact for local Portfolio Marketing for product design related questions, including legal conformity, nutritional aspects, claims check.
  • Local specification management.  Provision of specification for every product in market and ensure that all new, or rejuvenated products have & match agreed specs.
  • Provide required input for local Investor Board meetings.
  • Provision of technical support to the Quality function & Careline.
  • Competitor monitoring and leads benchmarking sessions in collaboration with local chefs.
  • Training of sales teams on technical subjects.
  • Support the relevant Nutrition, Sustainability, Packaging, Communications & Regulatory teams with adequate information that impact Company strategies/policy.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor-, Diploma- or Master- degree in Food Science and Technology or closely related subject.
  • Ideally a few years of experience in R&D project management.
  • Knowledge about our products, food processing and food production.
  • Working knowledge of the local and European food law.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
  • Basics in French
  • Project management
  • SAP PLM and Microsoft Office

  • Willingness and ability to work in international teams (BeNeFra and Europe)
  • Can work self-dependent
  • Interest in Food service
