As a key member of the Global Projects & Engineering Management Team, your role as Manager Civil Engineering is pivotal. Our Excellent Team
Join our diverse international team within HEINEKEN's Global Supply Chain. The team, led by you, consists of 7 Civil, Integration & Construction Safety specialists. Together, we steer and deliver CAPEX projects for our BReweries around the world. To ensure optimal teamwork and performance, we encourage our Manager Civil Engineering to spend a minimum of 3 days per week at our Schiphol office. Reporting directly to Mathijs Brantjes, Director Global Projects & Engineering, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to our strategic goals and continue our tradition of excellence.
 


What You’ll Do
Your role is to support Global Projects & Engineering to be high performing, innovative, inspiring, and adaptive to new digital technologies. Besides a true team player, the Manager Civil Engineering must be able to act autonomously, be entrepreneurial, an experienced change manager, highly ambitious, customer focused and inspiring.  You are responsible with your team for developing and executing civil scope (including construction safety)  and full integration of all disciplines  in Capex projects exceeding €10 million. With an overall annual budget of over €1bn. You also serve as the GP&E representative in SteerCo meetings for Global projects.  

 

This role will develop, coordinate, manage and lead the operations, sustainability, and productivity of Heineken’s civil operations, including high focus on technical services, manpower planning and workload management, financial accountability, quality control & assurance, employee performance & development and overall success and morale. The complicated balance between the need to achieve groundbreaking mechanical developments and business execution creates challenges that drive processes that require a bridge from engineering risk to manufacturing capability to business needs.

 

The key objective is to provide senior leadership on a variety of complex Civil Engineering projects across the globe, for new as well as for existing operations and to manage a team of civil, integration and safety  engineers. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in both land development, infrastructure projects and a thorough understanding of current Civil Engineering standards and contracting strategies. He or she will secure, negotiate, and contract for the services of other technical consultants and sub-consultants required for the projects and will challenge them on innovative practices.

Who You Are

  • Education & Experience: Hold a master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with 13+ years of CAPEX project experience or industry related experience.
  • Leadership: Have proven leadership skills to inspire and develop people enabling them to be the best they can be. Expertise in multinational team leadership, ideally in FMCG , construction or consultancy. Navigate complex stakeholders in functions across Operating Companies, Head Office, and international Supply Chain projects. Strong foundation in CAPEX projects.
  • Skills: Dependable business partner skilled in Supplier Relationship Management. Proficient in Civil and Construction Engineering, emphasizing Capital project excellence. Comprehensive knowledge of Business and Finance, translating into practical solutions.
  • Communication: Exceptional English communication. Manage senior stakeholders effectively, including suppliers.
  • Persuasion: Influence through deep understanding beyond facts.
  • Additional Skills: Proficient in stakeholder management, innovation, handling uncertainty constructively, active exploration, listening, negotiation, coaching. Maintain a strategic view, shaping the supplier base and embracing an agile mindset for adaptability.

  • Gross annual salary between €87,456.00 - €134,556.00, depending on your experience.
