Team and environment: PostNL has the ambition to transform into the most efficient and innovative logistic mail and e-commerce platform in the Benelux. In order to successfully make the digital transition we extensively make use of Mendix low code technology. And every day Mendix is growing in our IT- landscape. We use Mendix for our most business-critical logistical systems and we fully work in the Mendix cloud environment. In addition we are growing our own Mendix development community fast. From here we share best practices and initiatives for innovations. Because our Mendix development community is growing, we need proper centralised support facilities to make sure our Mendix developers can perform at their best. That is why we start as part of our Cloud Centre of Excellence, A Mendix enablement team with Mendix passionate people who will deliver development facilities and foundations to our Mendix development teams across the company.

What is your role?
At the core of your role as a Mendix Engineer in our Center of Excellence (CoE) is the objective to bring automation, standardization, and re-use to the Mendix domain, enriching the quality and business value of Mendix teams within PostNL. Your distinctive contribution lies in playing a pivotal role within a team of three developers, not only shaping guidelines, building generic components/apps and providing advice but also actively advancing the front-end Mendix capabilities of PostNL . You have the ownership and freedom to decide how to advance these front-end capabilities within PostNL.

The initial focus involves implementing guidelines, creating a starter app, and developing reusable components. Once this foundational work is complete, your role transforms into a creative phase, allowing you the autonomy to innovate and build solutions that benefit other teams. As a central Mendix team member, you'll share best practices and insights, leveraging your expertise in automation, standardization, and problem-solving to foster agility in PostNL development teams. Recognizing and addressing obstacles in Mendix adoption is vital, and your analytical skills will propose effective solutions. Overall, your role combines advisory functions with hands-on innovation, driving progress and efficiency within PostNL.

In summary you can find yourself in the following background:

• Basic knowledge of and experience in designing microservices architecture and integrating all the other relevant application domains;
• At least 3 years working experience with Mendix;
• Proficiency in UI/UX design principles for creating visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces;
• Strong knowledge of front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript;
• Proficient in styling Mendix applications using Mendix-specific styling languages, such as SCSS;
• Understanding of theming and styling configurations in Mendix;
• Fluent in English, both verbal and written;
• Strong communication skills;
• A true Mendix advocate, passionate about the innovations we can create with Mendix;
• Ability to connect with Mendix development teams and Product Owners, collect requirements and translate these into solutions;
• Passionate about coaching, guiding and learning to Mendix developers in various levels;
• Eager to further develop your personal and technical skills;
• A customer focused mindset.
