For our location in Hattem we are looking for a Quality Inspection and Classification Engineer to join our team!

Job description

QuantiParts offers its customers spare parts for classic Wärtsilä medium- and high-speed engines. We employ about 80 people in Hattem and France, with customers and suppliers all over the world. In this position you will be working in a team with three other Quality Inspection and Classification Engineers and in close cooperation with Sales, Purchasing, Warehouse, Assembly, Technical Support, procurement and of course Suppliers. 

In this position you will be monitoring and maintaining the quality of all products and parts delivered by our internal departments and external suppliers. You will ensure the products, components and materials meet the required quality standards by applying the correct test methods like performing measurements to test hardness and roughness . You have the change to develop yourself into a true product quality expert who can assist our suppliers and internal departments from the purchasing phase up to  the delivery of the final products to our customers. Since this role plays a crucial part in product safety and customer satisfaction, we greatly appreciate efforts to improve quality processes throughout the entire organisation. 

What are your main tasks and responsibilities?

• Take care of the inspection of received and returned products to ensure that they meet the technical requirements such as hardness, roughness etc.;
• Detect product deviations and define corrective measures if needed; 
• Ensure proper management and distribution of all the classification documentation of goods (products); 
• Invites and assists classification surveyors to classify and re-classify products;
• Drive continuous improvement activities in quality, cycle times and processes.

What do we expect from you?

• Able to read technical drawings, assembly instructions and test requirements and perform applicable test methods and measurement methods;
• You have a technical background with preferably some working experience. Experience in the maritime or automotive industry will be considered as a plus. 
• Working with computers (Microsoft Office and SAP) is no obstacle;
• Hands-on with a positive, agile and flexible attitude and attention to detail;
• Good social and communication skills in English and Dutch, both oral and written. Basic knowledge of technical German language is a plus.

Functieomschrijving

QuantiParts biedt haar klanten reserveonderdelen voor klassieke Wärtsilä midden- en hogesnelheidsmotoren. Er werken ongeveer 80 mensen in Hattem en Frankrijk, met klanten en leveranciers over de hele wereld. In deze functie werk je in een team met drie andere Kwaliteitsinspectie- en Classificatie-ingenieurs en werk je nauw samen met Verkoop, Inkoop, Magazijn, Assemblage, Technische Ondersteuning, Inkoop en uiteraard Leveranciers.

In deze functie bewaak en onderhoud je de kwaliteit van alle producten en onderdelen die door onze interne afdelingen en externe leveranciers worden geleverd. Je zorgt ervoor dat de producten, componenten en materialen voldoen aan de vereiste kwaliteitsnormen door de juiste testmethoden toe te passen, zoals het uitvoeren van metingen om de hardheid en ruwheid te testen. Jij krijgt de kans om jezelf te ontwikkelen tot een echte productkwaliteitsexpert die onze leveranciers en interne afdelingen kan bijstaan vanaf de inkoopfase tot en met de levering van de eindproducten aan onze klanten. Omdat deze rol een cruciale rol speelt in de productveiligheid en klanttevredenheid, stellen wij inspanningen om de kwaliteitsprocessen in de hele organisatie te verbeteren zeer op prijs.

Wat zijn je belangrijkste taken en verantwoordelijkheden?

• Zorg dragen voor de inspectie van ontvangen en geretourneerde producten om er zeker van te zijn dat deze voldoen aan de technische eisen zoals hardheid, ruwheid etc.;
• Productafwijkingen detecteren en indien nodig corrigerende maatregelen definiëren;
• Zorgen voor een goed beheer en distributie van alle classificatiedocumentatie van goederen (producten);
• Nodigt classificatie-inspecteurs uit en assisteert deze bij het classificeren en herclassificeren van producten;
• Stimuleer continue verbeteringsactiviteiten op het gebied van kwaliteit, cyclustijden en processen.

Wat verwachten wij van jou?

• In staat om technische tekeningen, montage-instructies en testvereisten te lezen en toepasselijke testmethoden en meetmethoden uit te voeren;
• Je hebt een technische achtergrond met bij voorkeur enige werkervaring. Ervaring in de maritieme of auto-industrie wordt als een pluspunt beschouwd.
• Werken met computers (Microsoft Office en SAP) is geen belemmering;
• Hands-on met een positieve, wendbare en flexibele instelling en oog voor detail;
• Goede sociale en communicatieve vaardigheden in het Engels en Nederlands, zowel mondeling als schriftelijk. Basiskennis van de technische Duitse taal is een pluspunt.
