The Position: Senior Accounting Specialist, Cost Of Sales & Inventory (COSI)
Position sits Amsterdam, NL.
In this role, the COSI Above Market Senior Specialist is expected to consolidate global sales, costs sales and eliminate intercompany profit to ensure global P&L and inventory accounts are properly stated. This role will work directly with global costing teams to understand drivers impacting inventory, Sales & COGS accounts. In addition, this candidate will partner with Organon’s Manufacturing Division, Commercial and Corporate to assist them in their review of actual results. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Perform the above market monthly close activities which include the tracking and elimination of intercompany profit in inventory, by product and on a consolidated level.
- Oversight of product level reviews to ensure intercompany profit is appropriate and partner with costing team to understand any major drivers/changes.
- Perform product level and consolidated PGM analysis to ensure intercompany profit realized is appropriate and in line with expectations.
- Partner with commercial to understand major drivers in product level PGM analysis as well as performing research on major drivers impacting COGS
- Perform the appropriate recording of the Intercompany Profit Elimination to ensure inventory is appropriately stated.
- Perform the Inter-company profit reconciliation and resolve any significant differences on a timely basis. This will requires partnering with our Global Costings to understand differences and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain strong internal controls over respective Above Market Processes (i.e., Intercompany Profit Elimination, Standard Revaluation, Months of Supply and Intercompany Reserve processes).
- Approve various above market journals to support the month end close
- Perform detailed analysis on FX impact on inventory and communicate drivers to commercial and manufacturing
- Perform monthly reconciliation of ICP reserve. Collaborate with global costing to clear differences on a timely basis.
- Identify trends noted in ICP reserve and collaborate with cross functional teams (OTC, ATR) in and identifying ways to address differences
- In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, this position will work closely with the COSI Associate Director and Director to identify process improvements and help improve visibility into P&L results when questions come to COSI from local markets and corporate.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
Minimum 5 years’ experience in an analytical/ accounting role
Willingness to take on responsibility, work in a fast paced environment and meet reporting due dates.
Good presentation skills
Goal-orientated, show initiative to learn and be adaptive to change
Customer focus /orientated
Excellent analytical skills
High fluency in Excel
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Certified Public Accountant or MBA
Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word proficiency
SAP
2+ years cost accounting experience
Ability to build effective working relationships across functions, willingness and capability to gather data and understand the desired outcomes cross functionally
Ability to influence decision making, project management skills and results oriented
Experience working in S4 HANA and/or HFM
Systems experience with Intercompany Profit in Inventory Management
