Role overview:
We are looking for a Senior Big Data Developer who can create and maintain high-quality applications using Java/J2EE, SpringBoot, and Big Data-Hadoop technologies. You will be responsible for overall design, development, testing, and deploying applications for large-scale data processing and analysis.
What you bring to the role:
Must Have:
- 8+ years of application development experience in Java and Spring Framework.
- 3+ years of application development experience in Hadoop, Spark and Java/Scala.
- 3+ years in developing and optimizing Big Data applications using Java/Scala and Spark on Cloudera/HDP.
- Experience in developing/designing micro-service architecture.
- Extensive experience in one of the cloud providers AWS/Azure and migrating large scale complex projects from on-prem to Cloud including in-between hybrid options.
- Proven hands-on experience in containerization – Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift etc.
- Experience in developing applications in Spring & Spring Boot.
- Working knowledge of Jenkins CI, Git, CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders – business and technical.
Nice to Have
- Experience in building data pipelines on AWS/Azure and/or Databricks.
- Knowledge in Market Risk/Capital Markets/Banking.
What you’ll do:
- Optimize Spark jobs and Java applications.
- Develop, code, document and execute unit test, system, integration and acceptance test using different languages and testing tools for functions of high complexity.
- Provide consulting services on new initiatives (small to large of varying complexity).
- Explore new emerging technologies and how they best suit our applications.
- Ensure adequate technical documentation and training.
