We are looking for an immediate, full-time, permanent position in EMEA at United Kingdom and Ireland.
Job Purpose:
- Provide legal support and advice required by the Supply Chain business unit operating in UK and Ireland.
- To liaise with international parts of the business as necessary.
Your tasks:
- Provide a comprehensive legal service on customer contracts within the UK&I region.
- Answer all ad hoc queries raised by DSC.
- Liaise with all relevant stakeholders (e.g. Risk, Commercial, HR, Real Estate, Finance) to ensure transactions are co-ordinated.
- Advise DSC on general legal aspects that affect its business, whether contractual or otherwise.
- Identify potential areas of risk and liability and advise on strategy for avoidance or mitigation, as well as raising and escalating any material business issues internally where required, including at relevant project review boards.
- Provide training as appropriate to the Business on commercial contracting and other changes in law impacting DHL business
- Be an integral member of the GBS Legal Services UK & Ireland team.
- Attend various Legal team meetings, know-how and training sessions and conferences.
- Integrate with Real Estate and Risk who will form key working stakeholders with you in your daily work.
- You will be required to assist in implementing and managing various processes, including ensuring implementation of DHL’s Contract Approval Guidelines.
- You will be expected to liaise closely and immediately in respect of any major issues which arise, as well as providing a regular report of all ongoing activities to your manager.
- You would be expected to help in the development of more junior members of the team.
Your profile:
- Commercial, pragmatic and decisive in approach.
- You will have good commercial contracting experience and ideally in outsourcing. Experience of public sector contracting would be welcome.
- You will have the required level of gravitas and commercial contracting experience to manage a high and demanding workload with competence.
- Preferably minimum of 6 years PQE
- Suitable level of experience working as a commercial contracts lawyer in industry and/or private practice.
- Ideally, experience of working in house or in the logistics sector, but this is not a pre-requisite
- Expected Educational Qualifications: UK qualified solicitor.
