Position Summary

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for delivering complex programs and/or projects with high involvement from site stakeholders in support of the strategic and operational goals and objectives for BMS Leiden.

The Senior Project Manager will manage and lead cross-functional teams to develop project charters, define, and secure capacity, support the budgeting process, build detailed project schedules, resolve challenges, manage, and mitigate risks and issues in order to secure outcomes and realize benefits.

The Senior Project Manager contributes to the success of the PMO team by applying a structured program and or project management approach to complex programs and projects that optimizes planning and delivery of the portfolio of projects, as well as contributes to evolving the project management processes, tools, and methodologies to support the execution of the portfolio of programs and projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Defines and executes scope and activities of programs and or projects to achieve results

  • Leads medium/high complex multidisciplinary programs and or projects with high risks and interdependencies and actively tailors’ techniques (e.g., waterfall, agile, CI, hybrid).

  • Author project charters including definition of high-level timelines and budget needs by consulting with project team, SMEs, and other stakeholders as necessary.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within business and IT to support Cell Therapy.

  • Leads decision taking and effectively manages uncertainties and expectations of all stakeholders.

  • Define, secure, and communicate capacity plan.

  • Define and manage detailed project schedules including routine communication of progress, risks, and issues.

  • Understand interdependencies between business and technology delivery schedules as well as operational needs.

  • Manage risks and issues, including leading creation of mitigation plan and/or escalation as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 6+ years of project management experience in supply chain or manufacturing environment (biotech or pharma industry preferred).

  • Excellent knowledge of and competency in project management processes, including planning, capacity planning and allocation, risk and issue management.

  • Experience successfully leading large projects and or programs.

  • Experience in SDLC Methodologies, Agile, SCRUM, SDLC/Waterfall.

  • Ideal candidate should also have a Bachelors, Agile scrum and PMP-PMI or Prince 2 certification

  • Preferred -Master’s degree in supply chain, Manufacturing, Information Systems, Business, Engineering or similar

  • Training and/or certifications in lean six sigma green- or blackbelt
