Who am I?
 
As purchasing manager your main mission will be to  manage the Business Services, IT, Supply Chain and Logistics categories (annual spend of about 50m€), in line with Group’s purchasing strategies and policies. 

  • Analyse business needs and anticipate evolution of needs. Propose the most valuable option involving internal and external network/resources. 
  • Define local purchasing strategy (in line with Group/Zone strategy): define the best suited supplier portfolio (for a division or a category). 
  • Drive changes in the market structure. Input, build and/or challenge category strategies and develop market intelligence.
  • Optimize costs: Capture breakthrough ideas coming from the suppliers. Maximize value creation opportunities impacting P&L. Activate all levers of the value chain. 
  • Animate the network, lead best practices and drive advocacy. Ensure competitiveness and that the strategy is implemented successfully. Use breakthrough sourcing strategies to create value (P&L and Top Line) 
  • Maximize Supplier Relationships: SRM with strategic suppliers. Develop strategic suppliers to sustain growth and drive improvement projects. 
  • Create value and innovates: Capture innovation opportunities form internal & external sources. Lead strategic projects. Manage financial cost and impact. Get the buy-in, communicate with steering committee, stakeholders. 
  • Able to work autonomously, take decisions and escalate when appropriate. 
  • Negotiate with integrity
  • Operate according to internal control principles and legal rules: Develop a competitive advantage (exclusivity, group strategy, innovation, CSR, …). Negotiate high stake contracts. Negotiate intellectual property, licensing, exclusivity agreements for innovation. 
  • Evaluate and manage risks: Define and implement risk management policy. Implement advanced methodologies or tools to secure risk. Manage regulatory risks. 
  • Manage Performance and efficiency: Be accountable for purchasing performance. Formulate recommendations based of Supplier P&L analysis or L'Oréal/Brand P&L. Challenge Financial and logistics managers when purchasing is impacted by other functions. Ensure data quality.
  • Support and manage relationships with stakeholders: Communicate / manage projects /share suppliers’ information with stakeholders, influence stakeholders. Be a trusted business partner.

 

 

Your profile

You are analytical strong but pragmatic when the situation requires. As a person you are determined to make a great impact by taking initiatives and sharing your ideas. It is important to feel comfortable to collaborate with different stakeholders and that you know how to convince them if necessary. Furthermore you are open minded and supportive towards new initiatives.

 

Our ideal candidate has or is:

  • Fluent in English and Dutch
  • Approximately 5 years of Sourcing experience
  • Data analysis skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Loves to make improvements and challenge the status quo

Nice to have:

  • Experience in FMCG
  • Experience in the Business Services category (Indirect Spend)
  • Proficient in French
