Job Description

The AIG (Analytical Instruments Group) Clean Energy team is newly formed and supports the portfolio of the Chemical Analysis Division (CAD). We provide strategic direction, market intelligence, industry knowledge & workflow expertise, to deliver impactful cross-divisional market development, Business Development, and marketing initiatives that drive portfolio evolution, sales growth, and capture share in target segments of Battery, Hydrogen, and Solar segments.

The Chemical Analysis business provides a broad mix of analytical instruments and services to a diverse range of end-user markets including Safety & Security, Environmental, Food Safety, Life Sciences, Medical, Energy, Spectroscopy and Minerals and Mining. Its instruments are deployed globally in the field and on the line, in results-oriented environments where customers put a premium on robustness, reliability and ease of use. The Chemical Analysis business operates within a global footprint with more than 4,000 colleagues, delivering product solutions to customers that allow for confident, on-the-spot decision-making. CAD is part of the Analytical Instruments group and is comprised of three business units:

We are seeking an expert Senior Business Development Manager to join our new and fast-growing team. You will be accountable for driving growth and developing a commercial pipeline through targeted programs. This role requires a deep understanding of the market, commercial competence, and the initiative to connect and drive actions across global commercial and sales development teams.

Location:Europe or North America (upper 48 states); one position posted in multiple locations.

Reporting to: Director, Clean Energy

Key Responsibilities

  • Pipeline Management: Coordinate the development and management of the sales pipeline, including bookings forecasting, and conducting analytics to identify trends and opportunities for a diverse product portfolio.

  • Sales Development Support: Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to support pipeline development efforts, including lead generation, qualification, and nurturing.

  • Sales Enablement: Develop and provide commercial tools, such as battle-cards, to enable salespeople to communicate our value propositions that address customer needs and pains. Conduct training sessions for the sales team to improve their product knowledge, sales techniques, and overall efficiency. Provide technical support and industry expertise to commercial partners, ensuring successful implementation of our products and solutions.

  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and strategic alliances to expand market reach and drive revenue growth.

  • New Product Introduction Go-To-Market Initiatives: Support the product teams with vertical go-to-market strategy and execution for new product releases, including developing market introduction launch plans (MIP) specific to each target market.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific, engineering, business administration, or marketing, field. Higher degree or MBA an advantage.

  • 5+ years experience and proven track record of success in Business Development and driving sales growth in a B2B environment. Experience in the Battery, Hydrogen, or Solar segments is highly advantageous.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and customer insights to advise strategic decision-making.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, explaining sophisticated concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience in sales enablement, including developing sales tools such as battle-cards, and delivering Business Development support to sales teams.

  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers, partners, and internal collaborators.

  • Strong leadership and commercial development project management aptitudes, with the resourcefulness to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously.
