Our client is a Dutch family company, boasting a 150-year legacy of craftsmanship, that has evolved into an international organisation with notable growth potential and development opportunities, and is currently seeking a System Engineer to join their team in Schijndel.
Your mission involves maintaining the IT infrastructure, supporting a large number of users. You'll work in a dynamic, expanding technical setting with various applications, an international network, and a private server park with a twin-data centre. Your role includes technical management, implementation, and documentation of the international infrastructure. You'll also actively improve the Information and Communication Technology department's performance.
The position involves on-call duty, covering two weeks from Monday to Monday. This service is performed on rotation by several colleagues in the IT department, during which you are reachable 24/7. You report directly to the IT Infrastructure and Operations Manager.
Responsabilites:
- Manage data communication between the different national and international branches.
- Manage the international server park and applications listed in the job requirements.
- Set up and maintain the security policy in collaboration with the IT Infrastructure and Operations Manager.
- Troubleshooting, independently or working with a colleague System Engineer.
- Provide support to the Support Engineers (1st / 2nd line).
- Identify developments and propose structural improvements and solutions in the form of end-to-end responsibility.
- Provide technical support for the other teams within the ICT department.
Requirements:
- You have a Higher Professional Education qualification and at least 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Furthermore, you have broad knowledge of:
- Microsoft
- Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022) | Windows 10/11 | Enterprise | Exchange Server 2019 / Exchange Online | Terminal Services / Remote Desktop Services | SQL Server | Microsoft 365 | Active Directory | Azure Entra

- ESX | vCenter
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is useful.
- You have excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written, possibly with knowledge of German and Polish.
- Willingness to travel internationally within Europe and particularly to Poland, Italy, and Germany several times a year is required.
- You are analytical and focused on results and solutions.You have good planning and organisational skills.
- You are decisive and work well in collaboration with others.
