Het avontuur

Who are we?

Six brands, one vision. We are a team of passionate experts with a shared love of the outdoors. We believe that people are happier outside. Our mission is to inspire and support customers to actively get outside by delivering unrivalled expertise and quality products from the best brands. We want to make it easy, fun and exciting to shop with us. Most of all, we inspire adventure. Yonderland is characterized by high quality, specific knowledge and personal service. The aim is to expand our businesses in all countries across all channels. Yonderland is Europe's number one omni channel retailer in outdoor clothing and -equipment. In the Netherlands  we are mostly known as Bever, in Belgium as A.S. Adventure and Juttu. In the UK we are known as Cotsworld Outdoor, Snow + Rock and Runners Need. All of that sums up to more than 250 stores and 4000 employees.

About your new adventure:

As a Teamlead UX Designer at Yonderland you'll spend most of your time on doing what you love most: creating amazing UX/UI designs through well-defined user research and great communication with stakeholders. You will work with sprints in a scrum team alongside working closely with the other UXers on a daily basis. The team you will manage consists of four colleagues.

A normal day as Teamlead UX Designer in Yonderland could be - testing your designs with users, having discussions with stakeholders and assisting developers to make your designs a reality. You'll proactively present UX best practices and have an opinion backed by data and research on creating the best user experience for our brands and customers. You should be able to use design thinking methodologies, pitch unique ideas, take part in critiques and discussions and explain your design decisions through good written and verbal communication. Understanding and using data to support your designs is a must. Alongside being a team player it's important to be flexible and open to challenges. We are looking for an end-to-end UXer who loves to do research and create great UI designs but can also take ownership on complex projects and see them through.

Your colleagues in the UX-team will rely on your experience and expertise to help shape the process and planning of the design work. The ideal candidate is a team guide that takes the bull by the horns and is empathic at the same time. You love to work with people to get results. You relieve your team through clear structures and guidelines so that they can focus on their core tasks.

As you will be working with multiple stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, you will need to have good poise and strong communication skills. The division of work is approximately 40% cooperative and 60% tasks belonging to leading the team.
