Business Controller

The business control department consists of an enthusiastic team of highly skilled employees. The team is working in close cooperation with the Accounting team, Risk department, Front and Back Office of our Trading & Renewables teams, all located in the Rotterdam office as well, so we have short communication lines. Depending on the background of the candidate a training period within our Risk department may be required.

Description

• Providing management information to local stakeholders as well as to higher management, including analysis, to evaluate trading performance and explain the monthly movements on the trading P&L
• Functioning as a sparring partner for all layers in the organization, with specialization in understanding our ETRM system and processes
• Timely identification and escalation if necessary of controlling/business issues that affect the performance of operations
• Pro-actively maintaining, supporting, advising and executing the annual and monthly Planning & Control cycle
• Supporting and executing various ad-hoc activities where controlling expertise is required
• Participating in management team meetings within your scope
• Participating in projects and implementation processes

Profile

• A Master's degree or equivalent experience.
• You are preferably educated in the area of business economics and have work experience in a commodity business in the field of controlling or deal accounting (2-4 years).
• Knowledge of and experience with ETRM systems and Mark to Market valuation is preferred.
• Excellent command of English language.
• Excellent command of MS Powerpoint and MS Excel, Power BI is preferred .
• The ideal candidate has proven track record on project activities in a complex organization.
