We are looking for a Country Corporate Counsel to ABB Finland Oy, located in Helsinki, with the possibility to hybrid work. You will lead a broad range of legal and integrity activities as a lawyer for all local Business Areas and Functions and as a strategic business partner in line with the ABB way decentralized operating model. The Country Corporate Counsel implements global strategy and advises local managements, businesses and functions on legal and integrity issues to ensure full compliance with Group policies and procedures, as well as local legal regulations. Your responsibilities

• Providing legal advice and counsel to ABB local businesses across a broad range of legal issues, assisting in project execution from a contract perspective and managing dispute and litigation matters
• Assist with drafting and negotiating of a wide array of contracts, including conducting risk analysis and giving advice on risk mitigation steps
• Responsible for ABB legal obligations in Finland and work closely with the country’s management team and board to ensure that the local ABB entity complies with its fiduciary obligation
• Anticipating and identifying legal issues of concern to local business management and proactively developing effective legal strategies and practical solutions
• Supporting anticipating future business and legal opportunities and challenging and developing strategies to address them
• Providing legal and integrity training and awareness for key internal stakeholders, as well as monitoring on-going integrity
• Ensure good corporate governance in the area of accountability and compliance with local law and ABB policies and procedures, including the implementation of GDPR

Your background

• Master of Laws or an equivalent qualification in Finnish law from a reputable university
• Minimum of 8+ years´ of post qualification experience in a law firm or as in-house legal counsel, proven track record in providing legal advice with clear risk balancing in a commercial setting
• Ability to provide flexible, pragmatic, solution-driven and commercially relevant legal advice
• Advanced drafting and negotiation experience in all contractual and commercial law matters, ability to compile and analyze complex business information
• Highly collaborative way of working with ability to influence others and build strong professional relationships, as well as strong organization skills
• Good communication and negotiation skills, strong ability to communicate complex or controversial topics to a diverse audience in an easy to understand way
• Experience in ensuring compliance with GDPR rules and fiduciary obligations
• Fluency in Finnish and English, both written and oral, is required
