A Director of GC&E is fully responsible for the development of the GCE Team and responsible for successful execution of all GCE strategies to achieve key performance indicators, annual budget, loyalty and performance goals for both GCE Sales & GCE Services teams and design the marketing strategies to increase revenue.
What will I be doing?
The Director of GC&E will promote the services and facilities of the Hotels to all customers and Guests and cross sell the other products within the Hilton family of brands when appropriate. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Sales Process
- To oversee and manage all GC&E sales operations for Hilton Istanbul Bomonti
- To maximize all GC&E revenue opportunities
- To manage the department’s day to day adherence of the selling strategy to yield GC&E space
- To review weekly the forthcoming year’s GC&E business, identify gaps and ensuring pro-active measures are taken to achieve targets
- To contribute to the setting of the GC&E selling strategy and regular review & update of the Demand Calendar
- To drive conversion of GC&E enquiries to become contracted business
- To ensure pro-active sales activity to bring back “old” business
- To develop more business from existing customers
- To drive maximization of no show, cancelations and upsell revenues.
- To generate new GC&E business
- To obtain full knowledge of Competitors’ products to understand the market place
- To participate in Daily commercial meetings, weekly business focus meetings and weekly group meetings to ensure an effective selling strategy is adopted and reviewed
- To develop a sales culture within the department
- To prepare weekly forecasts for GC&E and to be actively involved in the weekly forecasts and quarterly reviews for rooms
- Maintain exceptional levels of customer service
- Ensure compliance of brand standards
- Evaluate guest satisfaction levels with a focus on continuous improvement
- Aware of trends and able to propose strategies to build the range and quality of GC&E
- Provide effective leadership to the team to ensure targets are met and exceeded both for the hotel and individual development
- Manage staff performance issues in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- To lead and motivate the team
Operational Process
- Ensuring that all reservations are correct, appropriate rooms were assigned for the guests.
- Communicating the necessary information and details to FO, H/K and related operational departments about the account and the guest
- Monitoring the level of service to clients in every field of the operation and reporting the deficiencies, opportunities and new ideas to the DBD and GM.
What are we looking for?

- A minimum of 3 years of Director of GC&E experience in the hotel industry
- Ability to read listen and communicate effectively in Turkish and English; in writing, using correct grammar, spelling and sentence structure
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate, verbal and in written form, effectively with Management and Ownership groups
- Excellent organisation and planning skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a full understanding of professional ethics, decorum and social skills required for extensive interaction with customers, investment owners and business partners
- Ability to perform critical analysis
- Strong experience in hospitality forecasting, pricing and inventory control
- Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate a high-performing team positioned to exceed targets
- Strong analytical skills to understand key business indicators and competitive trends and develop approaches to these challenges
- Excellent selling capabilities and the ability and desire to coach selling techniques to Team Members

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- Knowledge of the hotel property management systems
- Previous experience in the same or similar role
- Relevant degree, in business development or other relevant business field, from an academic institution
