We're looking for someone to join our friendly and diverse team to ensure the iOS community within JustEat Takeaway could be regarded as one of the best in its class.

All about the role

Your primary focus will be enhancing and consolidating iOS capabilities that improve our customers’ experience around the world via our flagship food ordering apps. 
You will be part of a cross functional core team, supported by engineering resources from other JET teams in a number of countries. You will be expected to work in close collaboration, providing support to these teams as we expedite the process of migrating and enhancing technical assets onto one global platform, to foster new commercial opportunities and enable innovation.
You will play a role in improving infrastructure code, adopting and developing architectural practices to further improve the reliability and performance of our apps. You will have access to like-minded developers, with whom you can collaborate, discuss ideas and concepts, pair-with, challenge and be challenged. You will be able to try out new ideas and concepts, keep up to date with the latest technologies and receive mentoring from others. You will be able to demonstrate your knowledge to the iOS ecosystem, collectively helping solve deeper technological and architectural issues which may arise.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Showcase the art of writing high quality, well tested code within a large engineering team, being able to understand the nuances of an exceptional codebase.

• Pair with others, bring in new concepts and ideas, developing solid, reliable and well thought-out code.

• Keep to standards and processes that have been agreed by the team, as well as creating, contributing-to and helping shape those standards.

• Have a continuous improvement agenda whereby you can communicate with and learn from your colleagues, as well as using your learnings to make a valuable contribution to the wider team and the apps.

• Communicate the technical work of your team to other engineering teams.

• Take responsibility for supporting your changes all the way through to proving that they work well – and continue to work well – in production.

• Release new versions to the store (~2 weeks) and support those changes all the way through to operating successfully in customers’ hands.

• Contribute to the reviewing and merging of your team’s pull requests, after those automated tests have passed.

• Coming up with awesome ideas to implement in the apps!

Can you deliver…

Here are the skills and experience we need from you:

• Swift / SwiftUI

• Integration, Unit and UI Tests

• Demonstrable experience in building stable software with high attention to detail

• Demonstrable experience of a knowledge of the iOS ecosystem

• Demonstrable experience of knowledge sharing 

• Continuous integration

• Strong understanding of developing software in isolated and reusable components

• An understanding of code design for efficiency and readability

• Experience working with an Agile methodology
