About the role
At Accell Group, we understand that robust logistics are the backbone of dynamic market presence and customer satisfaction. As we expand our horizons we are seeking a Logistics & Operations Category Manager who will play a pivotal role in steering our Transport, Packaging, and Logistic Services, as well as managing our Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) with a keen eye on innovation and efficiency. We are market challengers and leaders where meticulous attention to the logistics details sets us apart. 

You will in this role report to the Indirect Procurement Manager and will be an integral part of the Indirect Procurement team at Accell Group. The role will be instrumental in the strategic oversight and operational management of our Transport, Warehousing, and Packaging categories. The position demands a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution in the realms of supplier partnership, cost management, and logistic innovation.

This is a full-time employment with a flexible location. We welcome applications from Heerenveen or Amsterdam (NL), Poland (fully-remote), Odense (DK), Sennfeld (DE) and Tószeg (HU). Occasional travel is required to various company sites and supplier locations across Europe. Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement category strategies that align with company goals and drive efficiency in Transport, Warehousing, and Packaging;
  • Forge and foster key supplier relationships, conduct contract negotiations, and perform critical performance evaluations;
  • Lead the bidding process for capital expenditures and significant expense items, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality;
  • Champion cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and by optimizing procurement processes;
  • Enhance supply chain operations by streamlining transportation processes and innovating packaging solutions;
  • Construct and enforce robust risk management strategies to ensure business continuity;
  • Keep a pulse on market trends, industry developments, and integrate emerging technologies for continuous category improvement;
  • Set up, monitor, and review KPIs to track and improve supplier and category performance;
  • Leverage data analytics to underpin decision-making and amplify the impact of logistics management.

Your Profile
You are a visionary with a pragmatic edge, dedicated to driving significant advancements in logistics management. With strong interpersonal skills and a talent for fostering engagement, you create a collaborative and transparent work atmosphere. You have the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, business requirements, and market conditions, while maintaining focus on key objectives. You are at ease navigating multicultural and international landscapes and understand the intricate dynamics of organizational behavior.

Your requirements

  • University degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, or a related field;
  • You have extensive experience and demonstrated success in logistics or category management, preferably within Transport, Packaging, or Logistic Services;
  • Proficient in managing supplier relations, contract negotiation, and strategic sourcing;
  • Adept at using data analysis to guide decisions and enhance category performance;
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
