As a Procurement Specialist, you will manage all indirect purchases for our Memphis office which serves as the hub of the US/LATM operations for the Installation Products division. In this role, you will ensure the implementation, maintenance, and compliance of the purchasing and logistics-related activities in the Procurement function to support the business including management of our supplier onboarding process. Your responsibilities
- Execute purchasing and logistics strategies to support the US/ LATM Installation Products business by optimizing costs, quality, and reliability of suppliers and supplied products.
- Design and implement plans and effective strategies for local sourcing of products/materials to reach business targets.
- Provide excellent internal customer service by training ABB requestors to generate purchase requisitions within compliance guidelines.
- Manage ELOP supplier onboarding process for US/ LATM Installation Products region including but not limited to new supplier registration, vetting supplier qualifications and accurate data management for suppliers.
- Support the Procurement leadership team in implementing effective local sourcing strategies in line with business strategy to meet current and future business requirements.
- Support alignment between local procurement activities and division strategy.
- Apply and implement procurement standards, tools, and processes in area of responsibility to secure quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability.
- Track the procurement processes and activities and create and update reports, as required, following the ABB standards.
- Resolve issues related to procurement cost, quality, and delivery in their assigned area.
- Track internal and supplier performance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), quality issues, and implement related development actions including delivery of monthly KPI report/ dashboard for US/ LATM activities.
- Engage and execute in support of new initiatives and implement new changes related to purchasing and logistics within the region specifically Sustainability, Green Gas Emissions and Supplier On Time Delivery programs.
- Deliver and participate in training programs as required to ensure compliance and foster professional development.
- Ensure effective and transparent communication internally, externally, and between different units and centers.
- Perform other tasks and projects for Regional Category Managers as needed.
Your background
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management or in a technical or related field.
- 2 to 5 years of Procurement, Purchasing or Supply Chain Management experience.
- Proficiency with software applications such as MS-Office (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.), Power BI, SAP Ariba along with strong data management and analytical skills.
- A collaborative, solution-focused approach with excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Solid project management skills with the ability to navigate a fast-paced global organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with track record of project management skills and attention to detail.
- Track record of ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
