About the role:

You will be part of our Global Scoober Operations Data Analytics (SODA) team in Amsterdam. Scoober is the logistics delivery business in JET. Our delivery business play a critical role in our future growth ambitions to empower every food and convenience moment.

We are looking for an expert in applying advanced data analytics skills on solving day to day business problems. You will combine data-driven insights and business knowledge to support logistics operations to grow and continuously optimize the network from all perspectives, such as system features, courier recruitment and engagement, facility management, forecasting and planning. You will perform analyses and present crystal clear insights to stakeholders, so that your audience can adopt it in their daily work. As such, you will use your superb communication skills in transmitting your passion for data to others!

In this role you will also work with our central ML engineering team to shape our Machine Learning platform, which enables us to perform advanced analytics in a streamlined manner across the company.

These are some of the key ingredients to the role:

• Assist both senior and frontline stakeholders to solve business problems with comprehensive data analytics solutions;
• Lead and deliver data science and optimisation projects from start to finish, working closely with stakeholders to ensure a measurable business impact;
• Project examples are order forecasting or contract mix optimisation;
• Develop the root cause analysis and model correlation between KPIs;
• Proactively deliver new insights to improve logistics operation for Just Eat Takeaway;
• Visualize your findings in Tableau/slides with a storytelling way;
• Identify data science or AI applications across the whole logistics operation domain to drive efficiency;
• Develop guidelines, best practices and drive adoption throughout the data community.

What will you bring to the table?

• 1-5 yrs working experience in a similar role, familiarity with logistics KPIs is a plus;
• Proven record of applying statistical and machine learning methods to solve real-world problems in a scalable way, ideally in a production-grade environment. Example methods include forecasting, anomaly detection, classification, personalization, ranking;
• Delivering data-driven insights and outcomes clearly and communicating effectively with people of varying levels of data literacy and technical knowledge;
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across different organizations and geographies to define the work and deliver initiatives;
• Confident in extracting and manipulating data from various SQL and NoSQL data stores (e.g. BigQuery, Redshift) and platforms (Airflow) in a cloud environment;
• Ability to develop confidently in Python;
• Experience working in agile teams with code reviews and source control is preferred.
