Data Scientist – Demand Forecasting, Emea Service

A mathematical champion

• Use statistical modeling techniques to formulate a statistical and fine tune existing forecast for the EMEA aftermarket business.
• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning, statistical, and optimization models tailored to address Tesla's unique challenges
• Connect the dots looking backward, using historical data and analyzing consumption to develop a future outlook of the demand plan
• Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Demand Planners, and other relevant teams to gather domain knowledge and necessary data for robust forecasting models.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including inventory planning, material planning, service business analytics team, body shop teams, and NPI teams ++ to generate a holistic overview of the plan
• Ability to translate complex, mathematical insights into business language 

A hands-on analyst

• You will generate insights (e.g., performance drivers, correlation analysis, forecasting techniques, cause & effect relations) to accelerate business growth.
• This requires acquiring and cleaning data from multiple sources, structuring and building data models, analyzing to generate insights, and distributing those insights to business leaders.
• You have an experimentation mindset.
• You are excited about understanding the business problem and your internal users, focusing on outcome not output, and iterating to achieve the business outcome through an experimental approach.

• You translate business challenges into an analytical plan; you think practically and creatively to craft quick, effective solutions to problems.

• 2-4 Years of experience, depending on educational qualification (Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree)
• Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent
• Passionate about planning, solving complex problems, and working with various stakeholders
• Demonstrated expertise in forecasting, demand planning techniques, and translating numbers into an actionable plan
• Proficiency in Python, SQL and a solid understanding of Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Time Series Forecasting models
  
• Continuous improvement & growth mindset. Strong intellectual curiosity, and ability to structurally
• Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks based on demand despite changes in work scope or focus
• Demonstrated experience in demand forecasting, supply chain planning, and demand planning concepts
• Strong analytical skills to interpret demand patterns, assess exceptions, and adapt forecasts as needed
• Ability to manage high volume SKUs
• Effective communication skills to convey insights to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented and proactive in managing exceptions and changes in demand patterns.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing circumstances.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
