The Role
We’re looking for Senior Consultant, Insurance Consulting who can deliver within Cognizant’s Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence, which are: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. As a Senior Consultant, you will analyze our insurance clients' business and technology challenges and build creative solutions to drive transformation. You will be responsible for participating in the requirements analysis process, developing strong working relationships with clients and team members, and building industry and domain expertise. Specifically, as a Senior Business Analyst, you have the opportunity to deliver immediate value to clients by working with a project-based team of consultants.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to drive strategic conversations with Chief Product Owner, Product Owners and Business SMEs to decide the multiyear product roadmap based on industry trends and the COTS platform capabilities.
- Ability to interact and drive tactical conversations with Product Owners on how the multi-year roadmap can be broken down into more tactical implementation plan based on the COTS roadmap and teams’ capabilities.
- Ability to drive discovery sessions and nudge business SMEs to use maximum out of the box capabilities. Strong documentation capability and adept to design process flows depicting the future state based on current pain points.
- Review the quality of documented stories and assess the Acceptance criteria to ensure they are meeting the guidelines.
- Work with the BA team and Tech Leads to ensure requirements are clear.
- Work with BA team to ensure they are owning the demo of the system to business users during Sprint demo, UAT.
- Work with technical team to triage the defects and help in root cause analysis. Streamline process to minimize defects due to missed requirements.
- Ability to support account team to publish multiple reports to keep Cognizant leadership informed.
- Ability to think out of box and generate new ideas to do things better.
- Ability to work with COTS vendor company to minimize product gaps and shorten implementation cycle.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, Information Systems or similar field.
- Background in Management Education - Master’s degree preferred.
Required Skills:
- 8+ years of experience as a Senior Business Analyst Including demonstrated experience in business and functional requirements elicitation, translation, and documentation.
- Hands-on experience in Life and Group Insurance space.
- Should possess people management in meeting the career aspirations of the BA team, implementing training to keep the team upgraded on the latest tools and techniques.
- Should have consulting skills, including effective communication, expectation management, and results delivery.
- Experience working with COTS platforms capabilities.
- Experience in managing a team of Business Analysts and lay out clear guidelines on how the outputs of discovery session should be converted to requirements so that they can be readily consumed by technical team to develop.
- Proven ability to be a "servant leader" in a non-hierarchical environment, adopting an Agile attitude that evolves with the business.
- Coach/hire experienced consultants and new talent into the practice.

Candidate must be located within the commuting distance of NJ, NYC & PA or be willing to relocate to the area

Salary and Other Compensation:
Applications will be accepted until 3/29/2024.
The annual salary for this position is between $65,000.00 to $130,000.00 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
