Join us as Business Development Manager for the Motion Business Area and you’ll be responsible to generate new accounts and maintain and grow existing accounts in the OEM and HVAC segment. In your role you’ll get satisfaction from building positive, long-term relationships with your customers based all around Auckland. Reporting to the National Sales Manager and this position will be based in Grafton, New Zealand. Being a client-facing role there is an element of travel, but locations will be local and can be done within the working day.
Your responsibilities
- Achieving sales and business targets within the assigned region, customer list and/or industry segment.Planning and ensure execution of industry segment,channel initiatives aligned with local and global strategies, to achieve both qualitative and quantitative targets
- Providing commercial and technical support to customers and channel partners, addressing their requirements and needs, efficiently and effectively
- Selling and providing support for Variable Speed Drives, PLCs,Electric Motors, Generators and associated product and solutions
- Providing timely and accurate reporting as directed and Identifying opportunities at existing and potential new customers, determines plans for acquisition and propose sound technical and commercial solutions
- Collaborating with colleagues both inside and outside of the Business to support integration with the wider ABB portfolio
Your background
- Degree qualified in a related field (eg electrical / electronic / automation / mechatronics engineering)
- Demonstrated experience in Front-End Sales roles in B2B organizations in the Industrial sector
- Strong experience in sales & account management. Technical knowledge in Variable Speed Drives, PLC’s and Electric Motors (desirable)
- Proven technical aptitude with knowledge of industrial processes & applications
- Experience working with Consultants, End Users, OEM, System Integrators, Channel Partners and EPCs
- HVAC knowledge is advantageous
- Able to communicate effectively (both verbal and written), customer oriented, negotiate, persuasive, possess professional attitude and good team spirit
- Well versed in MS Office application and CRM Systems
