Job Purpose: Provide best-in-class sourcing expertise within the EMEA Transportation cluster within Corporate Procurement to all DPDHL Business Units, with a particular focus on our LLP function. Support sourcing strategies and liaise with customers, reporting to the Regional Sourcing Manager for Central & Eastern Europe. This role involves managing sourcing processes for individual customers with an average spend ranging from €1M to €20M per tender, contributing to an overall spend in excess of €800M per annum.
Key Tasks:
- Provide professional sourcing support for key business initiatives, supply market research/intelligence, and establish global or regional frame contracts.
- Utilize e-tools to support tenders as required.
- Integrate Procurement into business planning and thinking via effective influencing skills.
- Achieve greatest value contribution, benefit realization, and efficiency from all procurement activities.
- Project Management of new assignments, applying standard Procurement RACI to new and existing Business Units/Contracts.
- Manage initial sourcing engagement, identify customer-specific challenges, and monitor projects, escalating issues to management.
- Support the development of Transportation sourcing as a dedicated and sustainable product within GBS procurement.
- Share best practices within GBS procurement.
- Ensure compliance regulations are adhered to, including governance and risk management implications.
- Have a basic understanding of the business values of engagements with customers.
- Be an interactive and participative team member within the EMEA Transport Procurement community.
Experience Level:
- More than 2 years within a similar role.
Key Requirements:
- Fluent in English (Written/Verbal), other European languages desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of E-sourcing tools (Jaggaer ASO/Bravo) desirable but not essential.
- Experience and understanding of Transportation business (Road, Air, and Ocean) within and outside of DPDHL.
- Procurement background with specialization in Transportation and Logistics services.
- Ability to manage complex projects under time pressure.
- Passionate about working in an agile environment and ability to adjust to changing requirements.
- High degree of customer orientation.
- Project management skills, negotiation experience desirable but not essential.
- Passionately driving own ideas and convincing people of the value of the procurement offering.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Understanding of working in a 4PL/LLP environment desirable but not essential.
